Coral Losing Colour

Hi, recently I have switched from PL lights to MH. However, I find that my frogspawn is begining to lose its green colouration. The coral, otherwise looks health. Both my other hammers are not showing similar symptoms.

The colour of my MH is 10k. I am wondering if I should change it to 20k. Will that help?

Mh produce a lot of heat.... Is your tank running on a chiller? If not, the cause could be the temperature.

Sorry, forgot to mentioned that my tank is in office. Air con is 24x7. When MH is on, temp is 25.

I am phasing in the MH light as there is also a pair of PL bulbs in the MH. I intended to change both to blue PL after the phasing in.

you might want to move the frogspawn to a shaded area and then slowly move it out over time. Also observe the behaviour of your other corals....but since it has bee n about 2 weeks already, those guys should be ok....

another way is that you might also want to shorten the time the MH is light up and increase the duration over the weeks.....i had the same problem with my clams and i use this trick to assemimate them to the lights....

I also have the same problem with my gonio. From very nice yellow to transparent colour. Been about 3 months now. Will the colour come back??? Rest of the corals ok though

juz a thought,

ur goniopora might be a dyed coral.
