Hose insulation for chillers

Hi guys,

I will be placing my chiller in my balcony which is some distance away from my tank so I was thinking whether there is any way to insulate the hoses to reduce heat gained along the way.

Any idea?

hi,

use P.E (Polyethylene) foam or P.U (Polyurethane) foam as they r known of industrially.

juz make sure one side of the foam is sticky (like double sided tape) so that u can wrap ur hose or whatever u wanna insulate.

Basically, u have 2 types. Elastomeric Nitrile Foam (black in colour) and Polyethylene Foam (P.E.) - grey in colour. Elastomeric Nitrile Foam is very flexible, light in weight and has low thermal conductivity of 0.04W/m°C @10°C.
