Blue tang not eating.

I just bought a juvenile blue tang. Seems like its not eating the pellets that Im feeding my fishes. Is there any way that I can make him accept the pellets or should I try other alternative food to feed him since the lfs that I bought him from is feeding him brine shrimps. Oh ya, can I use mysis shrimps instead?

Try with brine or mysis shrimp first. Then slowly introduce pellets.

yup, frozen mysis and brine shrimps are a good way to get your blue tang eating.

Healthy BTs are greedy...they'll eat sooner or later...unless they're not aclimatise properly....

wat i do is throw little brine shrimp and little pellets and little flakes all together...when they are grabbing, they might just take it...

I dont know abt other juv. BT but mine likes to "monkey see monkey do". What my wrasse do he also do...what he eat he also eat...where he swim he also swim.

same experience with my blue tang, about 1.5" in size. it refuse to it for 3 days, mysi, nori even though my yellow tang and other clowns are eating very happily. finally, i got some live baby brine shrimp, and after that day, it became the greediest fish in my tank...give it a try

I think you can try soaking your food with garlic guard. That usually enhance the smell of the food and make the fishes more excited to feed

It is still better to feed them with herbivore food such as seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health.

I do feed them with fresh seaweed sometimes. But Im thinking of buying the dried seaweed so it will be more convenient for me.
