Brown Hairy Algea

This brown hairy algea is growing all over my tank. Will UV light help to rid the algea? Where do I get hold of Rowaphos? Please advise. Thank.

Get yourself a blue legged hermit crab and it will eat away your hair algae ..

I don't think hermit crab will be able to clear the algae in your tank.... Chk your nutrient level eg. nitrate, phoshate, silicate, etc. Get Rowaphos to eliminate phoshate and silicate....

Try distributing more current to your tank...did mine now sandbed damn white... Of coz ur nitrate and phosphate must be low too...

Black sea cucumber is more of a "sand mover" than an algae eater ...

Dear all,

Thank for the advises.....I manage to control the algea but yet to terminate all....by reducing the lighting and work on some of the advises posted here..... Now the LR looks terrible, all brown unlike others with purple and etc color...anyone can advise. Thank
