mushrooms dies

Hi, I hv some colony of muchies which with me for few mths and about 4 days ago found out two of my common hairy green mushrms(about the size of fifty cent coins) melt away slowly. So i put my hand in the tank and scraped them off slowly fr the LR using my fingernails and removed some small dead tissues fm the tank. Its STINK!

The questions are, do dead mushrms release toxic into the tank? Will it cause sudden spike of ammonia or will the toxin kill all the mushrms around it? So far, all my LS in my tank are ok. Do i need to do water change? 20%,30%,50%?

My tank size is 3x2x2 and abt 4mths old.

Same thing happened to my yuma too.

It seems that some bacteria is attacked it and it speads to other yuma in my tank. I have tried to suck out its melted tissue but still cannot stop it from melting.

In the end still can't save the yuma, taken out the rock and clean away all the rotten tissue to stop it further pollute the water.

No worries, i dun tink the mushies release toxics... are they placed too close to some other corals that might sting them? is there sufficient light?

The melted ones,yes but can't help it cause they were sharing on one rock and for the others, i spread evenly but not that close. And as for the light, i'm using 150w MH with 20k de bulb. All the mushies are place right at the bottom of my sandbed with indirect light. I thougth mushies are suppose to be tough and very hardy.

Is there any possibility that it might be caused by a high temperature? Happened to me once but it opened up again a few days later. Now they are doing fine...

Yeah... they are pretty hardy.

My tank only has a fan, 3T5s and one blue tube and almost a whole tank full of mushies.

Surviving well... I even bought one thats badly injured (Cheap mah... 2Bucks but really big abt 4" and bright green ) After about 1 week had recovered and now opening very well.

Maybe u 'sway got those thats infected...
