Sipadan trip

Just got back from Sipadan, it was a really nice trip. lots of lots of species that was previously only seen on the books came alive !!

Here is a pic of the manta rays spotted at baracuda point !!

u got wide angle lens meh? manage to capture three manta's in a pic and yet still so clear! By the way, are those the mobula's (not sure of spelling, but the smaller variety) or the giant manta?

Thanks, yes, using single strobe.

stayed with SMART's water bungalow... its quite new and really nice.

The matas are taken with standard 50 mm lense

To be honest , I didn't know there are different types of manta rays until seeing your post

but from the looks , the wing span of these guys are around 1.8 to 2m wide, but then again it can be miss-leading under water .

given the rich marine life, snorkelling should be nice I would say so, though I didn't try it myself , but at least try to go for the discovery dive, it will be a very very different experience in the water than viewing from the surface...
