Snails which are harmful to SPS!!!

Have got a few of them in my tank and i noticed that they were hanging out at one of my sps and within a few days, there is a patch of bare white skeleton showing and its getting bigger! going to get rid of them pesky snails asap!...

They look like nassarius snails but they crawl all over the LR and SPS instead of burying themsleves in the sandbed...

This is a first I've heard of sps-eating snails. Are you sure they weren't just cleaning-up an already damaged part of the sps? Was it only this one colony or were others affected as well?

The snails were all at a particular SPS colony.. found 4 of them there and from what I can observe, the area of bare skeleton on that colony was ever increasing in larger circles and its usually at athe area the snails were hanging out....

Threw out the snails just to be on the safe side and the bare skeleton has stopped increasing.. might all be a coincidence but better be safe than sorry...
