ya... but usually, the overflow does the work... and also if your skimmer is good enough, the film won't form ... i don't know if circulation would help though.. maybe u can try? :eyebrow:

that's dirt that collected on the surface when it is a dead spot or there is no overflow

I had the same problem previously...I think it is some kind of organic waste or some cynobacteria or algae. mine was dark reddish purple. used a surface skimmer and some phosguard by seachem and they disappeared!! good luck
