Anyone wif probelms of mosquito in sump?

Hi,

Having the 'problem' of mosquitoes buzzing ard my sump and dying in the sump (5-7 per week). Though they are not breeding(cant see any lauva), thinking of getting rid of the problem.

Any suggestions other than pesticide suggested by my father (obviously objected by me )?

I think mosquito coil better...at least the repellent vapour wont stays on the water surface....

I see weirder things on my water column area or in the sump.

Mosquitoes cannot breed in saltwater. Insects are often attracted to light and/or high frequency sounds such as the hum made by the ballast.

i see... just worried that it will attract MORE mosquitoes then normal ... which will not be a good thing .. to be kana bitten by them ..

Maybe DIY mosquito netting over sump .. heh heh

Ya...mosquitos does not like salt water. The may be attracted by the heat generated by the tanks's equipment, eg. Lights, pumps..........etc, thinking some living things there so can suck blood.

Try to dissipate the heat by fans or something.
