Tonite attended my wife's D&D at a 5 star hotel. Half-way thru my red bean dessert, someone else at the table pulled full set of adult (large) wings of a cockroach out of the dessert!

All of us were horrified. :o He then called the F&B Mgr over and showed him.

If you were the F&B Manager what wld u do?

What happened in this case was they removed the dessert and offered us a fruit platter instead. Now seeing the dessert was definitely mass prepared, how about all the other tables? Everyone else was happily eating away at the dessert. But thinking about it, could they have done anything else? Otherwise cause more panic and upsets. Now open for comment... :eyebrow:

Moral of story, don't be a poor F&B Mgr! ;)

i worked at a fine dining restaurant at ritz carlton once... the same thing happened only that it was a beetle... the head chef got fired!

The world is such a wicked place, war btween the human race. People work to earn their bread, while across the sea they're counting dead

I was having a family dinner at a famous fishhead steamboat stall near the beginning of Toa Payoh Flyover at Serangoon.

Halfway through the soup, found a cockroach in the bowl o soup. Called the serving attendant, she called for the boss, the boss was swift enough to grab the bowl and said she can't help it and compensated us with a new set of the fishhead steamboat.

Optimistically : WOW!!! New set with fresh fish meat... :P

Pessimistically : Curse and swear at the shop and make a big din...

I chose the former. Afterall...we really wouldn't know what we have eaten until accidents occur... :D:P

Had a classmate many years ago, and this happened at the school canteen

he found a juvenile cockroach in the 'chap chye png' which he was eating halfway.

upon seeing the cockroach - he immediately threw everything out from his mouth onto the floor.

then he brought the plate of rice (with the roach still inside) to the stallholder and made a big fuss out of it

it blew up so big that a crowd gathered around the stall and the canteen operator

came. the stall holder offered to compensate another plate of rice but that was not the point - so my friend didn't accept.

we heard a few days later that the stall got permanently suspended and there was a new tenant that came... :(
