Installed a red sea Prizm in my sump tank , and set the flow to max. Current water level( the pt where the bubble is ) is near the o ring. Has been like this for quite some time but skimmate is little or none. as in the skimmate dont even form up in the chamber and spill into the collection cup. Is it becos there is nothing to skim?

My other filters in the sump includes , filter wool , Biohome, biomat , Polyfilter , Zeoliths , Sea Chem Purigen, carbon. Stocking of fishes - 1 mimic tang small , 1 orchid dottyback , 1 six line , 1 goby . Basically a reef tank of 2.5 ft. Water in tank now is crystal clear...

Can some one tell me is this normal?

All my corals are blomming exceptionally well and healthy,

NH4 - 0ppm

NO2 - 0ppm

NO3 - 20 ppm <_<

CAL : 420 ppm

MG: 1170ppm

PH: 8.3

Salinity: 1.024

how long hv u had the skimmer? it might not hv broken in yet. if u do frequently dip ur hands into the tank or hv juz fed ur fishes, u will notice that the foam will oso not rise as high as per normal.

btw, juz adjust the flow to abt 1 inch below the o ring. no need max. ;)

There is two air tube hole for the red sea prizm skimmer. Did u switch to the second hole after u turn on the skimmer?
