Anyone runs 2 chiller together?

Anyone run 2 chillers in parallel? I have a 6x2.5x2.5 tank with a 1/2HP Atman chiller. When the 3x150w MH are on, my chiller can no longer maintain the 26 degrees temperature.

To upgrade to an Artica 1 HP will easily cost me more than $2k. Thinking to buy another Atman or Resun 1/2hp chiller at about $400-$500. Any idea?

if u die die want to maintain your reef at 26deg....then you may be better off buying the artica/daleil chiller and let your atman be the standby chiller

As I said, the cost of another 1/2hp chiller is only $400, but an Artica chiller is $2k above. So there is a huge difference. But seems like no one really support this idea huh?

To run two chillers together, you need to plumb it in parallel and both chillers should be controlled by one temp controller. I believe it can be done!

ur atman chiller is definately under powered. for ur tank size, u definately need a chiller above 1/2hp.

Atman 1/2 hp and artica 1/2hp is totally different. I agree for smaller tank can use the Atman but for your tank size better go for something larger.

1/2hp artica would have no problem cooling down your tank
