hi all, thought of throwing my weipro aside and go for the becketts. but i know other than the RM, bio ocean is also carrying one.

i understand that RM miniature has a 6inch body and the other has a 8 inch body.

so need all bros who using them to give comments, any comments like value for money, performance, durability...

thanks in advance.

Beckett skimmer are known for their ability to remove huge amount of skimmate.. Some place rate it as one of the best skimmer but down side is that the skimmer need a pressurated pump that need very high wattage to run.... Oh ya the beckett nozzle is not that easy to find too... suggest you get RM staright away rather than trying to DIY.. hope this help

if i were you, i just hit the calculators to see which one gives me a better deal...

eg.

6inch chamber A ----> 8 inch chamber B = ? % increase

height of A ----> height of B = ? % increase/decrease

price of A ------> price of B = ? increase/decrease

do some manipulations and u will know which one gives your more bang for your bucks :)

of coz there are other factors like workmanship quality....quality of materials....goodwill discounts....blahblahblah :lol:

actually i try as much as possible not to contact the sellers. this will only complicate things.

i need those bros who are using RM to comment on the RM becketts and likewise from those who are using the other becketts.

if both got equally good reviews, then maybe i'll use the method suggested by bro roiden.

yah..

more accurate to use

volume % difference and compare with price % difference...

calculate both chambers Pi x R x R x h to find out the volume ...if u want to be more precise...take into account the base boxes below the chamber also...

for other things like workmanship quality...not easily quantifiable....

I am using Beckett from Bio Ocean, the 8" diameter.

Works great and valuable price.

Mocha foam appear within overnight after installation.

But I feel, MD55 is insufficient to drive it.

May be Iwaki MX70 or MX100 will show better result.
