Hey...has acquired my favourite fish...after so many long...FINALLY

It given to me by a kind reefer….I only managed to get it after so long…..

Besides the usual facts/ info about Moorish Idol, does anybody happen to keep it and can offer more info pertaining to it...

Hmm a very delicate fish as it is prone to disease and a poor shipper too.... DOA very high.... Seem that those from bali come in better condition be it finnage or overall fish condition.... Moorish idol are very picky feeder, most seem to accept pellet food first rather than shrimp stuffs....

For this MI, it's in my tub, how to post the photo? A bit skinny too but eating pellets. Give me some time to pump it up fat fat round round and I will definately post the photo and share with everyone :P

how can you tell if they are from Bali or some other place???? I notice that the one sold here mainly have yellow markings at they mouth....but the one shown in the cartoon Nemo and liveaqauria have blue markings...is that how you tell where they origina from????

any expert care to share....

Geographical variation is possible. Polymorphism (variation in color) can occur in the same species...especially if populations of the same species are rather isolated from one another.

Always something more important than fish.

Ask the lfs owner.... And for some long time lfs.. they have shipment every week on a certain day for a certain country's shipment... Get to know it ;);)

Thanks... mine was bought from a reefer here.... lasted 3months in his tank... just placed it in my tank yesterday, and today got white spots ... it's really difficult as it stresses easily... need help on how to de-stress the idol... :(

Try feeding the food.

I weaned mine onto pellets after the cycle on my food.

It was with me for three months until it became too fat and got stuck between my rocks and by the time I discovered it... :cry2::cry2::cry2:

The stomach was flattened in the middle exactly like how the contours of the rocks are... :cry2::cry2::cry2:
