Kalkwasser reactor vs Calcium-reactor

I plan to use kalkwasser reactor, price almost same as calcium reactor. except no co2 system require.

Each of their advantage and disadvantage?

CR can help to bring up calcium level and dkh and also some other trace elements..

KR only maintains it...

dun get yourself too confused with these 2 equipments...

basically, KR for LPS...CR for SPS...

KR is much cheaper than CR...KR only need to top up cheap kalk but CR need expensive argonite stuffs...

that's how i evaluate the whole situation...initially i intended a CR, but the maintanence cost is too much, the pumps, the CO2 and the ARM...will definitely lose a leg if i run it in my pathetic tank...

so everyday do kalk top up...no need KR some more...shake shake shake, leave it for 20mins, top up...

i posted this question 2mths back, and no one can gimme a clear explanation...so i evaluate my pocket and decided to go SPSless and kalk top-up everyday...

hhhmmmm....true enough...looks more sophisticated and more expensive...

genrally, typrobin has given a good view of KR vs CR. kalk has been known too eliminate phosphates to a certain extent to. in the end, it all boils down to what u r keeping. what is ur calcium "load" like? a KR might not be able to catch up with the calcium intake in ur tank if u hv loads of sps, clams in ur tank, unless u add calcium additives seperately. KR needs no tuning if used with a top up device like the TUBBY. but as for CR, patience is required to tune it to the optimum level u want.

After reading all your comments, i plan to get aqua-medic calcium reactor 1000 first. then , get kalk reactor to stable ph with auto-top up system.

In future, will use ph controller for the reactor. Any comments for the above equipments and systems. thanks thanks

I am not rich.. but i like this hobby a lot, and love to try out those equipments. Thus i am buying those equipments slowly.... bit bybit.
