Try siphoning all the detritus from the rock and the sand surface (need a bit caution) - it will reduce your nitrate almost immediately to about half in fact.

Sad to say it take abit discipline.

Test kit: Tetra test NO3 Always accurate

Take some RO/DI water and test, see if you get low reading or not. Then you can come back to say it is always accurate

Tried on 'just mixed' salt water. Reading is very low.

Nitrate Reading as of 12 sep 2pm: 12.5mg/L (but its slightly lighter in colour

in relation to the color wheel. So i am guess to be ard 5-12 lah.)

IMO this is a very safe range. don let it go beyound 20ppm. don worry to much, just monitor closely

Keeping it along that range... but sometimes do have a spike in NO3.

after adding macro algae, NO3 maintain at ard 5ppm.... grape type tends to turn white ...got the thin-grass type from SL

The grapes are kinda risky...

Tried twice either they release spore clouds and thrn turn into mush...

Or my tang ate it for dinner.
