Hmmm...If only they stated the ingredients on the bottle, would have cleared alot of doubts. I doubt the name of the product itself, DNA can't be stored in a dry form. It has to be preserved in a liquid media and chilled below 0 degrees. Oh well, just my opinion.

Always something more important than fish.

reef vital DNA IS in liquid form..the bottle srinks in size everytime after closing back.. suggesting "live bacteria culture" as oxygen gets used up in the botttle..

I seldom service the pump. Too lazy to do that. The time I serviced it was after my old tank was scraped. Didn't wanna clean them coz each time I removed them to wash, it's hard to stick them back on the glass...too much coralline. Yup, I'll soak the pump in vinegar for a couple of minutes if I ever service them though...

I am beginning to hate coraline aglae --- don't understand why you guys are going head over heed. Even my skimmer body is covered with coralline without direct lighting but with normal daylight as my sump is in my balcony area (shaded of course).

You will come to this stage when you will how to stop it from growing ;) The best is to cover all the rocks with coral.. so that you are spending every inch of your ligthing on your coral but not coralline aglae.

no offense just my perception.

hehe.. actually getting quite sick of it too.. powerheads now unable to service as it's covered with coralline..now spots are appearing in my skimmer too, altough i scrub it once every week..i fear the worst..but when i see coralline covering live rocks into one solid mass, it's quite interesting.. :heh:

CA is a pain in the ###### once established. they will suck calcium!

anyway CA can be achieved quite easily and cheaply too. just have the kh and Cal values there, and low light, and u will get there soon.

Yea..CA is a pain..they take up massive amounts of calcium and carbonates. Anyway, I notice sally lightfoots will eat coralline algae once other algae run out. :)
