I didn't dose anything and I got coraline algae within the third month of my tank's conception. (=

within the fourth month, it covered my entire back panel.

six months, and my whole central overflow got covered. the interior as well.

one month after I added lights into my sump area, I had coraline algae growing on my pumps for skimmer, return and UV. I even had coraline growing within my skimmer's reaction chamber.

all without dosing anything. (=

For those whom seen my puple encrust coraline algea growth i got them within 1 to 2 months just dosing kalkwasser ....

posting just to share my views and this thread is entirely for good of fellow reefers.. this is what i did and this is the result.. not changing anyone's opinion.. just the testement from my tank..

Ok how fast did you take from first dose to coralline encrustation?

Also, dosing patterns and technique. This is a review, after all.

after the first week spots of coralline appears everywhere.. those growing on liverocks starts covering the whole rock.. by the end of 1 month, coralline at vertically placed rocks starts to grow into plate shapes. my guess is they're reaching out for more light.. withnin 2 months there was'nt a single rock in my tank not having blotches of thick coralline all over it..

schedule as follows:

tech cb every 3 days (5caps each)

F.O.R.M everyday (1/8 teaspoon)

reefvital D.N.A (1cap everyday for first 30days, afterwhich

reduce to 1cap every 4 days)

actinic lights (12-13Hrs everyday)

water temp (27celcius)

Could be the increased calcium & alk provided by the tech CB. Wonder if possible to achieve the CA growth without the other factors (might not be necc). Interesting.
