Hi All,

For the benefit of all other new reefers or old reefers (not all equipments they have used before i am sure) it would be kinda useful to state the best piece of equipment you have bought so far that is invaluable to you and also its price-performance.

It churns out 1 full bottle of gunk per day (imagine that)

Not good to state price

And in par is a FR

I do not have a single spot of diatom from my tank's start up till now :eyebrow:

Let me start - For me it'll have to be the skimmer i purchased about a month ago, in terms of its price vs performance, it is very good - H&S 150-F2001 of course. Skims lotsa gunk out, keeping my 5 Tangs, 8 Clowns, 2 Gobies happy (fishes only).

2nd (yes although i mentioned the best piece of equipment sorry can't help it) would have to be the Arcadia T5 4 tubes. It is mounted onto the tank top, screwed for security, and the casing can be flapped open to gain access - easy for "murking" around the inside of your tank.

My best buy is the Reef Maniac Ca Reactor thst served me so well while I was keeping SPS....I no longer have to do dosing...and water parameter was always satisfactory...

since I hooked that up...been giving me above 430ppm Ca level and 10-11dkh..with ph at 8.1-8.3 .....

pretty much a plug and play equipment ;)

The other piece I love so much was my H&S skimmer...reliable and energy saving as compared to power horses.. :P

Hmm looks like Seio Flow is another good option in comparison to Tunze...will consider.

My most value-added equipment is my Aquasafe RO-DI unit.

I had it connected directly to my tank control by a solenoid directly to the house water piping via a 2 x float switch. I don't carry water around topping up my tank. Previously I was like doing that for like everyweek which i find it draining to do all this chores.

The waste water goes to my washing machine - so i dont waste any. My wife uses the washing machine more than I topup my tank. :P

Wow thats good ! but how do you know when to change the media inside the DI unit ? else the untreated water will get into your tank.
