Hi all,

i planning to put in about 8-9 pieces of 54w t5 in my 4 x 2 x 2ft tank.

I do not have a deep sand bed. Maybe about 1-2inch at most.

And I would like to put clams on my sandbed.

So my question is that if you guys think it is possible for the T5s to keep the clams alive?

What combination of tubes good? i thinking of 6 white and 2 blue... :snore:

Better raise the sandbed to at least 6inch. Do it nw while ur tank r still cycling.

Else i would say, having clams such as croceas on tat 1-2inch sandbed of urs supported by T5r not advisable. Combination can go for white white actinic white white actinic white white. Choices of T5 can be ATI aqua blue special with actinic or Aquaz 10k with actinic. ;)

There are 2 types of person, those that chose learn n do it rite the first time and those tat chose to learn it the hard way.

YzF, 8x 54w T5's would work just fine for what you have planned. Just be sure to get good reflectors and your T5s should be no more than 3" to 4" from the water surface.

Your clams should do fine on the sandbed but it would be good if you could elevate them a little. I have mine on my DSB.

Your proposed tube combo sounds good, pretty much how I would do it... 6x White (~10000K) and 2x Blue ;)

Thanks Jd_n. Too lazy to add sand. My tunze creating sand storm at the corners already.

Thanks Danano. Heard a lot abt your tank and your lightings. I had a hard time deciding what to get for my lightings.

Plan to go for some sps in the future. The proposed lighting can colour them up? Sps is supposed to colour up slower under 8xT5s compared to 2x250w MH?
