bro, can show how u connect the end caps to get it powered up?? :thanks:

No pic as I'm too lazy to overturn the lights, remove the tape and unplug etc. Sorry for that.

It is very easy to connect. Just connect (or push) the "male" in the T5 into the "female" of the T5 endcap. The normal T5 endcap can be bought easily.

hi bro,

nice job......can u show the close up of the aquaz reflectors n the tubes?

This is very "profound"

Quite diff to take the pic as you've requested. I need to "dim" my DC in the F & exposure setting in order to take the light "on" pic. But this effect will make the light dim.

To take the original effect of the light & reflector will cause the image to be over-exposed.

Or did I misunderstand your question?

errrrr .. so whats the difference between a normal electronic ballast and a t5 ballast?

In theory, T5 ballast "warm" start the T5 and the lights will last longer.

In real life, I don't know. :D

Non T5 ballast like the one I used can also be used to light up the T5 and it is so much cheaper. so I use it. (Pls remember the title of this thread: CHEAPO)

If the T5 can last for 9 months, I will be satisfied as it is time to change the lights. Moreover, certain T5 are getting very affordable. ;)

Escpecially since it's your wife's tank...

Wonder will there be a problem with the wood warping later?

The wood is solid so wraping (due to weight or heat) should not be an issue.

It is not heavy as well, as there are spacing (margins) unlike a single solid plank.

You can check it out at ikea ;)
