Pls do not ask why non-T5 ballast, no water-proof endcap, etc as this is a cheapo DIY for HER (NOT MINE) tank

I can just place the plank onto the tank (supported by its sides). But it is too close to the water surface and the lights ###### reflected will be coated by salt spray easily.

So I use the PVC to raise it higher above the water.

what does it means by high output ballast ... what does it highly output? current ? electricity? dosnt a 39 watts ballast outputs 39 watts ?

think there are 2 type of T5 blallast. 1 type is 36W & other is 39W. same
