Lighting requirement for FOWLR

Please kindly advise what is the lighting requirement for a 4x2x2 fish only with live rock tank?

light in your case is just for display only..

so just go for FL or pc light will do...

PL or FL will do....since no corals..

but if u like the LR to be covered with coraline algae..then maybe T5...

and get some fans perhaps?

Better go 4 T5, save power.

4x 39watts will be the best. Less heat some more.

Can show up your fish colour better with T5 too.

Using is on my 2 footer now. very good colour.

I used to run FL for my fish and softies tank.... tank OK for more than 6months..........

really depends on what you want.

Like purple encrusted algae??? try T5s

Wt abt those T4 light? wat is the different? and can the T4 be change to T5 light?

no t4 cannot just interchange to t5 without changing the eballast etc.

imo t5 is better in the long run, last heat then pl.

brighter than pl.

longer light span then pl.

if you dont need those high quality / output....

can go for cheaper alternative to T5 ........ Dymax t5 --- 30 watts for 3 ft ....

T5 no kick - try those single 70Watt MH or maybe a single source bulb - you can get caustic network on the seabed .. looks more natural.
