cannister to replace sump?

you keeping coral???? to me still possible (i'm running 2 footer with canister also) but you will have to be more hardworking in cleaning the canister more often as they tend to become nitrate factory....

but your tank quite big, should have enough space for sump so don't really advise you go cannister as IMHO a sump will have more flexiblitly...the only advantage that i see for canister is unless you have limited cabinate space or you want your tank to run quieter (depending on the canisiter used...)

i'm using Rena XP1.....coming to 3rd year already (2 years goldfish, nearly 1 year marine)and still working quite well...

I agree with tineng.

Cannister are effective filters is you have a set-up constriant and if you are not considering to have corals or some demanding fishes such as tangs, anthias & butterflies.

I too started with cannisters and have been satisfied with it until I venture into mixed reefs systems. ;)

maybe i can just replace my tank..get a new one with proper sump

and can have a ref..

more ideal...

Of course if you have $$$, go for a custom tank lah.

You can check out Bio-Ocean (our sponsor) I think they are having a promo on 3ft tank.

Good luck ;-)

actually redoing a tank may be cheaper...

some professional help my dad engage recommend me to get 2 cannister

and also 2 skimmers if i don want to redo tank..

but getting a extra cannister and skimmer cost more than the setup

Not cost efficient to run 2 canister and 2 skimmers in long run as you have to take into account electrical bill.

Sump is always much better than canister for anything 3 ft and above.

I think (marine) therefore I am
