yumas ran away from LR

as above. my yumas moved from a small piece of LR to a more shaded corner at the back of my tank. or squeezed into crevices n cracks.

is 120 watts of PL light too much for them?

55w W/W and 55w W/B and 15w artinic. the W/W color temp is 6500k, i think. a bit yellowish.

lights on about 10hrs a day.

thinking of getting more mushies, but if they all decide to "move house" becoz its too sunny i might as well save some money n go for zoos instead.

I dun think too much light is the reason. My Yumas thives at the 150w MH directly shown on it that it multiplied 3x its size everytime the light is on.

Maybe you would like to show a pix of the placement so that it would be easier for the reefers here to advise.

Yup...i don't think too much lights is the problem. I have 2 rocks of yumas under 4x55w PLs. When lights are on, they seems to be enjoying the lights and open up quite big...

standard 5 plan 2 feet tank:

- 2x55W PL light (W/W + W/B)

- 1x15W FL artinic

- weipro skimmer 2011

- hang-on filter with Kent marine carbon + phosguard

yumas put near the front of the tank. about 4-5 inches away from the front glass pane. on the sand bed.

any help??

hmmmm could it be ur flow rate around that area.

i also notice they like to move around when they are splitting.

the flow ard tha area isnt strong. at most moderate.

thing is, they're moving into areas away from the light. dunno y. that how i came to think that the lighting is too strong.

hmmm i agree with the rest of the reefers that they seem to enjoy that amount of light. the closest i placed is about 8 cm away from the T5 lights and they still expand until like nobody business.

how long ago did you buy your yumas? and are you sure they are yumas!

joke aside, how long ago did you buy them? and is the area of placement super high flow or moderate flow?

one of my yuma brougt off frm the rock one sticking to one very very small piece of rock smaller than it size.. nt to disturb it .. i let it grow one the tiny rock.. so far.. it is healthy.. expend when light r on... hope it survive
