any pumps to recommend if i wish to direct the chilled water back to main tank instead of the sump?

i tried a JBJ 2000 litre pump but it will cut in and out very often..within 5 minutes...

Tried using an Eheim 1262...dont know the outcome yet as still testing...

The reading on my Fox Temperature Controller is 26.9 degrees (probe in main tank). The chiller is set to chill to 27 degree, but usually shows 28 on the display.

I guess the difference may be due to the equipment in the sump.

I've reduce the flow rate. Seems better. Will carry on to monitor.

No cost involve so no harm trying :D . Hope to switch to a better chiller in the future but budget constraint plus 'CEO' approval not easy to get nowadays...

hey

press the set button for 10sec and set CA to -1.

it'll solve the problem of different readings.

aniwae...1 degrees difference in instrum, ents is actually very very acceptabl;e

Try using slower flow pump. When the water flows very fast, the contact time for the chiller's tubes and the water is fast and therefore the chiller's absorbtion of heat from the water is slower. Also those bigger pumps give off heat more.

Resun chiller has 2 degC cut in/out.

But i'm using extrema without any problems at all.. good thing that it can be controlled.. mine is not at the highest flowrate though... somewhere more than middle...

mine is ok.... 3X1.5X1.5 + 2X1.5X1.5, been running for 2mth+ liao... also water from sump, water back to last compartment of sump.... set temp at 27, actual water temp kept b/w 26 to 26.9.... doesnt kick in veri often even when 150W MH is workin... i using Weipro 3000 pump n i hav a eco-aqualizer in series to the water return....

IMO, too high a flowrate may not be gd, too slow may spoil the chiller as well... finetune the flowrate. make sure that the temp in the tank is kept at a consistent range where u wan it, that's the best guage ;)

hi guys, just an update, i adjusted the flow to about 800-900L/hr and the temperature set to 25 degrees and the chiller appears to work fine...its own themostat reads a stable temperature of 26 for at least an hour before hitting 27 and turning on again

by the way...how long does it takes to chill the tank in you guys homes?

with lights and wo lights?

My ATMAN CIRV400 takes abt 1.5hrs to cool down 27.5C to 26.5C with 500W MH and 400W pumps ON. If just 250W MH ON, it takes 45mins. If no lights ON, almost didn't run at all, if run also around 10-15mins to cool down 1C.
