Is BiColor Blenny SPS safe ?

Recommended Posts

I got this guy ( Bicolor Blenny ) 2 weeks ago and since than all most all of my SPS tips not come out at day time at all.

So I sit down and watch the whole day and found out that this little fellow, will swin from his cave to SPS and nip at the SPS's tip. So SPS tips hide back.

Tried to catch him unsuccessful.

Has any1 encounter b4 ?

What should I do

yeah...no problems with bicolour blenny.

6ft x 2ft x 3ft

Suggestions so far.

1. Remove coral chips and ceramic rings and replace with live rocks. removed...looking for live rocks now

2. get rid of most of the filter cloth

3. First Buy!!! Skimz FR with Sorb4 and eheim pump

4. Re-doing the sump.....I~aquatic doing up the plans.

5. Lighting MH+T5 or T5 only? how many?

6. Chiller?

7. Wave maker

8. check valve on the return line to prevent sump overflow (great idea)

9. Refugium? Anything to replace it? a FR of some sort maybe?

Tank Inhabitants

1x Blue Tang

1x picasso trigger

2x Brown Tang

1x pygmy angel

2x Stripped Damselfish

3x False Percula Clownfish

Bro, i dont know if your Blenny's cave is near to the sps or not, but if it is very near to it, that could be the reason, this guy likes to have a clean surrounding where it lives, it will nip and clear algae + anything  around him.

If you want it out, you can try to put empty coco worm tube (skeleton) into the tank, this guy likes to live in there, see it go in  , quickly cover the entrance and he is at yr mercy.... :nuke::D

SPS near to his cave ? Haa do u think about 1' away in 3' tank is consider near :D

Bad thing is that some of SPS colony he didn't distrub at all. Like green color, brown color, the rest heee like he is having potato chip. Now and than he goes and nip nip nip , and my heart pain pain pain.

He is cute and SPS is expensive.

So got no choice , to let him go, do u think I can keep him in refug ? 1x1x1.5'. With alge and some rock
