For LPS at 2ft height, 150W MH should be enough to reach the bottom. Since your length is 3ft, 2 x 150W MH can cover almost every spot. 10K temperature will give you good PAR, you can choose to supplement with 4 x T5 blue or actinic if you want to venture into sps at the top of the tank in future or give ur tank a bluish look.

So my opinion is quite identical to ryz.

Not likely you will need to upgrade from 2 x 150W as it good enough for 4ft. Also having 2 150W bulbs at each end of the tank means well spread lighting. Coz light travel in straight line, even if you have 1 x 250W in the centre, the sides likely to be blocked if you have many rocks.

My me two cents...

well well... I selling my MH. 2 x 150W; 10,000K...

Currently reserved but if buyer backs out then maybe you can consider

well, it depend on ur needs....if u uses 2x150watts, u may not be able to keep all type of coral eg sps.

u may 1 consider 250watts.....u can suspended the fixture higher to have a larger spread. the best, why not go for 2 x 250watts?

most of the reefers who uses 150watts will upgrade their lights to 250watts in the matter of time.....well, but it still up to your choice.

cheers......my 2 cents worth
