Once a upon a time

there was this reefer who started without any knowledge of marine keeping.

He approach this particular lfs, asking for advise, the owner started advise.

Indeed it was impressive enough for the young reefer to know that he had found a reliable source and supplies for his tank.

ON was the order and the construction of the tank ,

On was the ordering of equipments and acessories.

And was sad when things started to turn strange.

1) ehiem pumps was deliver without any box (strange as its new )

No prefilter sponge ,no additional pipe attachment, no instuction bookets.

And boy was shock that its was found on sale at the shop selling as spares.

it was package on very cheap bags, not original bags.

Felt cheated, but let it pass.

2) Second hand T-8 endcaps rusty inside was sold as new to the new reefer.

3)A popular brand of skimmers was found to have its tank mounting missing.

4)Now a check valve was confirm to be able to fit into it but was not. And the reefer call to enquire and was shock to find that it was for another size.

5)there are more of this issue which has made the reefer sad.

The reefer has made his mind to avoid any clashes with this LFs

But be warn check wat you buy.

it was sad to know that

Sigh.....Another bad experience by a fella reefer.

but a hobbyist who starts out in this hobby irregardless of having any marine keeping knowledge should oso ensure the intergrity of the things he purchased. he should not let pass whatever is missing or not new. Insist on new parts and for missing items to be replaced. else dun make any payment.

I wun deny that there r some LFSs that r way out of their league when it comes to monies making, but at the end of the day, we reefers hv to protect ourselves from them by being firm. ;)

juz me 2 cents.

In the world

Your Best Friend Can also be your worse enemy.

I think it is best to separate friendship with business.

Whenever money is involved, there is no such thing as friend (give convenience, helping out, etc). I have learnt my lesson well.

For those that thinks that the Singapore Law is going to help you, dream on. Its is better to be safe that sorry.
