Algae? Oh dear... They are plankton feeders in the wild feeding on zooplankton which drift past them. These are shy fishes and should not be housed with fishes much bigger than them or any other boisterous fishes such as tangs. Best housed in species tank whereby you can make sure it is 100% crab free. These will be shy once you get them and unless you are dedicated to pay enough attention to make sure they are getting enough food they will most likely perish. If they are hiding the best food to get them started is live adult brine shrimp. Once they are more settled down they will go after frozen food like mysis and cyclopeeze. Housing them with a compatible pistol shrimp (some are not) will make them more comfortable. Recommended pistol would be alpheus randalli. Then again you don't find these often. Please don't buy them if you are unable to meet such such requirements...such beautiful fish should be given the best care.
