if money is not a prob, go for MH loh... then get bulbs more than or equal to 10kk, more pleasing to the eyes ;)

halogens r veri cheap but it's too yellow for the eye B)

u can take a look at the MHs used in bus interchanges, bright, pleasing to the eyes n durable :D a few of those big MH that r used in woodlands bus interchange shld suffice liao :)

Metal Halides although bright need a start up time, so if you need light quick, halogen is the best.

For stage lighting, 10000K will be far too blue and irritating on the eyes. 6500K will look white (air is different from water) and <4300K yellow light will appear the brightest to the human eye.

hammy,

Assuming it's about 12 x 12 meters, it will depend on how many fixtures you want to have and what kind of application (mood, work light, etc).

Most probably, you will be looking at industrial 400W low bays or high bays depending on the mounting height.

UV is given off by the MH and people do get a tan after some time.

Only two for such a large space? If it is two then at least 400W will be required.

Mounting height will be determined but what is most convenient for you. Where is the attachment mount and wiring? How tall is the stage? Do you want to expose the lights to the audience?

Commercial and industrial MH lighting units are very easy to install. Everything you need is packed into a little box behind the reflector. They are quite heavy because of the ballast but you only need to plug in the power. Mounting it will be the hard part but should be fine if you know a bit of DiY with the powerdrill and brackets.
