purple queens not easy..

i feed hell lot to them and end up my tangs get bigger faster and chickened out at about 5 months mark or so, those can net out i net out...those cannot net out i let them starve by reducing feeding frequency and amount

now my AT is in the 5th month....hope it can get pass a year :)

is cleaner wrasse also one of them?

yes definately........ and guys/ reefers pla dun buy them..... let play a small part to help the eco- system....

Hmm i will list down a few-

1)at- sensitive, prone to ich and difficult to feed

2)moorish idol- VERY difficult to feed, prone to parasite

3)regal angel- Hard to feed

4)purple queen anthias- need regular feeding and hard to get it start to feed

5)white cheek surgeon aka powder black tang-Prone to ich... many died after few months in tank

6)clown surgeon- prone to marine fungus, and extremely aggressive

7)Powder blue- i guess many people will say they are quite ok what but actually the are extremely poor in acclimatizing... If They can get stable in the tank dens hould be ok

8)catalina goby- need cold water

9)cleaner wrasse- poor feeder and dun do well in captivity

oh ya quite a few anthias are difficult to keep due to thier diet for example, sunburst, pavirostris, square spot, ventralis, princess

And many of the wrasses can be hard to keep when newly introduced cos they get shock easily, poor acclimatizer and poor shipper

My cleaner wrasse is the most greedy one. It is usually the first one to come for the food, and it even eats vege... :)

I find some of the goby/dartfish are quite difficult. After put inside the tank and you never see them again. May be is because of my dottyback which is quite agressive.

Has to be Purple Queen. Unless you strip down the tank to just rocks and huge skimmer, their frequent eating habits will not allow you to keep water in good condition. I ever because of 2 PQ, many corals up lorry.

Those jumping type also difficult...cos don't know when they will commit sucide.

I think (marine) therefore I am

tried 9 dartfish...........all unable to get past a week.

6ft x 2ft x 3ft

Suggestions so far.

1. Remove coral chips and ceramic rings and replace with live rocks. removed...looking for live rocks now

2. get rid of most of the filter cloth

3. First Buy!!! Skimz FR with Sorb4 and eheim pump

4. Re-doing the sump.....I~aquatic doing up the plans.

5. Lighting MH+T5 or T5 only? how many?

6. Chiller?

7. Wave maker

8. check valve on the return line to prevent sump overflow (great idea)

9. Refugium? Anything to replace it? a FR of some sort maybe?

Tank Inhabitants

1x Blue Tang

1x picasso trigger

2x Brown Tang

1x pygmy angel

2x Stripped Damselfish

3x False Percula Clownfish

You are lucky. My dottyback and doctor warsse can't even last for 3 days and they go AWOL.

Saw on the web that bristle star will actually attack smaller fish and I have one of those in my tank. Being trying very hard to locate the fella but I can't seens to find it near the place I last saw it. <_<<_<
