IMO, i dun tink 70W is sufficient for a 3ft...., if u really wanna upgrade ur light, u can add on T5s to ur existing ones (since DIY r becoming so cheap now), or u can hav a 150W, u hang it say 8~10 inches, so that the illumminated area is larger... since it is higher, not too much heat will reach ur water, on top of that, place a fan that blows across the surface of ur water to remove the heat from MH ;)

Hi, thanks for the input, the purpose of 70W MH 20k is to add up with T5 actinicx2

and get the shimmering effect during the nite. Light wise not so much a concern , just not sure about the heat from 70W is it too hot for the tank. Thanks.

I'm using 2x 2 feet Aquaz 20KK T5.

It do produce a bit of shimmering effect

Your 20kk is very whitish good for day but nte prefer to be more bluish, that's why thot of adding 2xT5 actinic plus 70W MH 20K bulb. Light shimmering effect from

FL and MH is different MH is point contact similiar to sun effect. Thanks.
