I bought Tunze TS07 yesterday and busy fixing in my small little tank. While I was busy finding best spot to have max effect, my wife shoot me the question like this

"Are u sure it's the last one to add on, and how much does it cost u"

I wasn't thinking just my lips said

200.

She said, "Oh," and walked back.

Do u think I lie to her or tell true lie

And I am just wonder how many of us tell true lie about their purcahse to their spouse/gf/bf

And it shall all depends on the nature of the person that ask the question. If he/she is the naggy type, and the lie is able to prevent/cut down on the nagging part, i feel its fine.

IMO, Do not reveal the true price, for goodness sake!!

I once told my GF( now my wife) that the yellow tang that i just bought is $2.00(actual price is $28 from haiwaii).

she only realise the real price a year later while she was with me at SL. all i do is gave her a smile when she stare at me...

Well, my wife nag at me when I bring back the tank.

She asked me whether I was so free and how much did I spent,

So I did say,

3 ft arcylic tank with all those accessories, salt so on costed me 120.

ya...sometimes i feel that i have to do that to:-

1)get what i want

2)save her from nagging

3)peace to my ear

4)can plan for next item to buy

5)she will still help u to feed the fish when u are not around.

whatever it is, just spend within your limit...and ur wife will support ur hobby too

Most LS I have are either $2 or $5. The cue is never bring wife to LFS. Once there, all lobang pi-cha.

My wife always asked me how is the food I cooked today ? If I tell her it taste bad or it is worse than the last meal then that's it ...... no food for the next few weeks .... so i always tell her .. can be better .... inorder to have food on the table everytimes i comes home .....

I never tell my wife how much I spent on things I buy -- this is the first rule I lay out when we get married - Separate finance. As each have our own hobby ..... I have seen my parent quarrelled when young about finances and usu it is the first quarrel in any family unless you have ton of it ....

However, having said that, I cant deny she really support my hobby financially and morally........but sometime I just have to tell some sweet lies.......

I remember when I started this hobby, we went to a fish farm and both of us were like crazy shopper......except that we didnt carry a basket to put our corals.....hahaha

Going to buy a tub of Tropic marine salt. Will tell wife it is a bit more expensive than table salt cos got minerals.
