SRC Member Jimaroon Posted August 10, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted August 10, 2004 Hi ppl, I'm just wondering is there anyone using Tropic Marin sea salt? Is there any difference compared to Coralife? Or is Red Sea sea salt better? Any comments?
SRC Member ryz Posted August 10, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted August 10, 2004 http://www.aquacraft.net/s9910.html says it all BUT, it from an Aqua Craft website so the integrity of the test results is questionable. top few brands of salts(according to the table) are all from Aqua Craft... hmm.... SRC Member Melvyn Tan Posted August 10, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted August 10, 2004 There has been a thread somewhere before on the opinion of the best available salt for marine aquarium. It seems to point towards Kent Marine Salt......i am using Kent and is happy with the results. SRC Member ryan Posted August 10, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted August 10, 2004 here here here some links about salt. some say that these are biased. however i find that marine environment salt is better than some of the others i have used before. i have tested my newly mixed coralife salt and found that there were nitrates present. shocking, but true. anyway i was thinking, these results may be biased but they may also be true. up to you to decide. just wanted to share, good luck! I think I agree to this. My friend said that he uses Coralife salt and complains the nitrate level always high. I'm using Coralife right now, perhaps after reading those links I think I should re-consider about using other brands.
