how much lr required for this tank setup

Hi Brothers and sisters,

I am setting up one 90 cm(length)* 90 cm(height) * 65 cm(width) tank.

i will be setting the rocks up to the height of 60cm. so roughly how many kg of LR is need??

well, it's the first time i come across a tank with such dimensions.

anyway, how much LRs u need depends on what kind of system u r going for too, jaulbert or berlin? rockscaping? finiancial constraint? but IMHO, at least 50kg to start with for a tank of ur size if u ask me.

which system is good.. as the tank is quite high.. i hope the maintenance is simple

since u hv a tank of 3ft height, might as well go for a 4 to 6" dsb.

up to u. but my personal preference is grade 0, u can go for 1/2 dsb in grade 0 and the other 1/2 in grade 1.

where to get solid rocks? from balestier "RED SEA" or CF or...others

u can get from the places u hv stated or from the pasar malam thread here. quality wise u hv to judge for urself.

Whoa tall tall tank. I like but I think you may have difficutlty doing maintanence and also arrangments of corals and LR. Back would ache like hell. I have a 2.5ft already bad enough. Anyways good luck on your tank!

Btw the LR you wanna choose, get those very porous ones.Porous with small holes and relatively light would be good. Also make sure that the LR has living organisms and also coralline algae.

Bro, there are huge rocks for sale in the masar malam forum... by a fellow reefer... anyway, the more rocks u have the better as there are more space for bacterial to grow, but it also depends on the rockscape you wan...
