hi, ZeRoC00l

did u test ur po4 with a test kit before and after?

are u overfeeding?

what do u use for water topup?

ur result is rather weird since most of us see improvements after using aquaphos. however, i would recommend gradual po4 reduction instead of dumping lots of po4 removal to absorb all po4 instantly. u can cost shock to ur livestocks.

hi, ZeRoC00l

my suggestion is to get a po4 test kit first. identify your current situation, i.e. your current po4 concentration in the water.

test your topup water. leaving water overnight only helps with chlorine. there may be trace of po4 introduced back into your tank via the topup water.

if the concentration of po4 is too high, the aqua phos could've been exhausted long before you see any results.

ZeRoCool,

IMHO, there are more than one way that Algae can grow. Phosphate is one of the factor, but algae bloom can be due to nitrate or silicate too right?

So may be the phosphate is zero already, but the nitrate and other nutrient are still high? Do you use macro algae as nutrient export in your sump?
