Hammer open after changing to pink light

One of my hammer was not opened when I was using 1 X 15 watts (Marine Blue) plus 1 X 35 watts (Blue + White) for my 2 feets tank. Thought it is dying because another hammer and all other corals are doing well.

It start open after I changed the 15 watts (Marine blue) to normal pink aquariam light. The tank is also look brighter with the pink colour light.

Any explanation.

errrr... hammer and most hard corals out there require lights that are much much much more stronger then the pink lights you use... you'll also tend to notice that the colours of your LS are more vibrant with T5 or MH lights.. IMO, pink lights are not suited for marine usage la..

Can it because I'm using 2 set of light. The 1 X 35 watts (Should be PL right?) & 1 X 15watts. One of my hammer is doing quiet good and look healthy. With me for one over month.

A month is not very long. If they survive more than a year then can be considered rather long. In the wild they live for decades..a few months is nothing to them.

One thing I notice is that hammer dont seem to open very well under strong current.

You might want to look into that as well.
