Hi There

Need advice wheather need to remove or trim the algae that got covered from the brown stuff.

What is that brown stuff.

Is it harmful .Is the algae doing well or doing its job adsorbing nutriens as i have cyno problem on the sand bed (about 4-5 months still under controlled)

:thanks:

That's cyano growing on your grape. Obviously the grape is not competing well against the cyano. You will need a lot more grape algae to fight back the cyano. In the mean time, look to improving water quality through other means.

You acro doesn't look all that good too. If stuff are dying in the tank, get rid of it.

Run a good phosphate removal media preferably in a fluidized reactor. It'll take about a week for you to start seeing your cyano die off. Of cause do try to remove as much as possible manually before starving them off if not your water quality might deteriorate.

Always something more important than fish.

Thanks for the advice you guys.

Think i better start buying some algae instead of coral..Had been using phosphate removal (contraphos) for about 6 weeks already but the progress of removing it is slow.

Had also notice a increased of cyno (red & brown) 1-2 days after adding iodine.
