I have 2 of them as well and I dont remember that they ever stay still except when they are feeding.

Take a closer look at the one that is not moving. Is it feeding? Sometime, they will stay still but the mouths (or feelers) is searching the ground for food.

?!??!!? From wat i understand of temperate species of sea cucumbers, they reproduce via normal release of sperm and eggs (distinct males and females) into the water during spawning - maybe u got a mutant cuke dat was crossed between a starfish???

I havent heard of cukes reproducing thru fission, u must be the first... :o

OMG i guess i was partially wrong...yours was probably injured or accidentally cut into 2 parts???

Regeneration:

Sea cucumbers are noted for being capable of varying degrees of regeneration. If cut into numerous sections at least the terminal piece containing the cloaca grows back. Of course, evisceration is subsequently followed up with replacement of all blown out tissues.

cuke info

Guess u learn something new EVERYDAY... :pinch:
