Clown Fish Dead

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of Clarkii clownfishes which have been with me for more about 8 months. The bigger fish has grown from 2.5in to 3.5in. Yesterday afternoon, it was still swimming actively and eating well. To my horror, yesterday late evening, I found it dead in its favourite stripe anemone. Could it be murdered by the anemone? I figure that it couldn't has died and the body so coincidently stuck in the anemone. Normally, when a fish died, its body would be somewhere behind a rock. This is strange. Anyone who has a clownfish dead and stuck onto an anemone?

Then, I suppose the fish died of some other cause and was somehow floating and was caught by the anemone. My poor clown :cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2:

Any sea cuke or other poisonous marine life inside ur tank? Maybe it could be due to poisoning.......or is it having any ich or white spots?........just a guess..

As in all good murder mysteries, THE HOUSEKEEPER DID IT!!

No, sorry, kidding. :paiseh:

Actually it's hard to figure out why your clownfish died. Any tell tale signs? Body scars? Mucus/velvet/spots? Any aggressive fish introduced recently? General water parameters?

Be teachable always, nobody has a monopoly on wisdom. But learn to distinguish "fact" from "opinion".
