I am planning on getting Tek Light T5 fixtre ~ 6nos x 54watts (4 feet)

My tank is 5ftx2ftx2ft w DSB of 5"

What sort of combination should I go for?

I was thinking of

2 nos of actinic, 2 nos of 10k and 2 nos of 20k?

or should I just go for 4 nos of 20k + 2 nos of actinic?

Pls advise

I am going for a FOWLR, some softies + maybe some LPS....

What kind of combination would u suggest for such a setup?

Also remember, my tank is 5 ft long and I am using 4ft tubes...

and what's wrong with the 20k? what is 20k more suitable for?

I am going for Eaquanature's tek light fixtures... they have those that hold 4, 6 and 8 tubes...

Wondering should I be kiasu and go for the 8 tubes....

For your setup as FOWLR, some softies + maybe some LPS....

IMO, 4 tube of T5 is enough (1 actinics 3 10k), if not kiasu abit go for 6 tubes (2 actinics 4 10k).

I myself is running 3 tubes, keeping softies, LPS and all type of clam. Doing very well.

So u using 3 tubes... 2 10k and 1 actinic I supposed?

What about 20k? Why not use them? I always thought higher kelvin is better...

Last time play nano tank not so much consideration... now....

If you can space out your T5s enough it would be good to incorporate parabolic reflectors to all tubes. Such reflectors really make a difference.

well said........ ;) its true if u have individual reflectors, u are using all the lights so there will not be any light lost....better still, parabolic reflectors...ha ha ha
