Hi,

What K T5 is best for SPS?

Using 2x 20KK Aquaz with 1x Zoomed Actinic.

For growth?? 6.5K is veri good.PAR wise..But colour wise, Yellowish..

10K is good..crips white blueish colour...

try to use actinics:daylight on a ratio of 3:1 on average

wat size tank are u using? and wat watt T5?

If you are space constrained, I'd say add the T5 actinics last.

I suggest adding more 10KK T5s for a good balance of growth and colour. Mix in a 17KK (blue) for stronger purples.

10KKs are very white, so mixing in a blue would soften the appearance as well (i.e. more pleasing to the eye).

6.5KK tends to be more yellow. Mixed with blue will give you a whiter appearance but you might get banding.

What are your tank dimensions? Can you fit 6 tubes over your tank? If you are serious about keeping sps, short of using MH, that's what is needed to achieve good results with T5s. Tube/Colour and reflector choice is crucial. This is in addition to maintaining pristine water conditions, strong circulation, optimal CA & dKH levels, etc, etc...

I believe ATI's Sunpro is 6.5KK. One of our sponsors, eAN, carries it. You'll have to check with Edmund for stock.

From the way I see it, those bulbs look so much whiter than standard 20kk bulbs...

One thing though is that purples and pinks seems to register strongly with these bulbs....

So you running on T5 only? No MH? How about chiller?

Joe, it will be interesting to see how your sps colour up under those Aquaz's.

Do keep us posted. Try to take before and after pics if you can.

But I understand that you're thinking about replacing some of the tubes to another type, right?

Btw, what would constitute 'standard 20kk tubes'? I'm curious...
