I just start a new fish only saltwater tank .

Last year Nov start finish cycle on early Jan

5 fish already in . My tank is 3 feet iOS tall tank

I have done 1 time wc .

I start my tank using tap plus prime and safe . And a 3 pack of sea water buy from Ah Beng .

Last wc Feb .

 

Do I need a skimmer?

 

Do I need to wc weekly ?

 

I only want fish only coz my tank no chiller .

if you have no other nutrient removal filtration (eg. refugium or algae turf scrubber), yes you need a skimmer.

WC frequency - depends. monitor your nutrients (nitrate). for fish only i think 30-50ppm is ok, though ideally below 20ppm. generally for fish only think wc once every 2 weeks is ok. but amount of water change also matters. generally 10-20% per time.
