Decoloring sponge

Just got a blue sponge and it started to decolor towards white after 2 days...

Isit dying? If it dies is it toxic? Should it be removed then?

it died becos theres lack of food in the tank or if proper care is not given. a sponge should not haf air bubbles trapped in it. nvr squeeze and dent it too much. provide phytoplankotn or zooplankton for its usage.

dying ... i have difficulty keeping blue sponge too....

i think they dun like too much light and places with good flow where they can get their pplankton /

OK the sponge on the lorry liaos i guess but do i remove it or can keep it inside? Any side effects if i keep inside? Any effect to ammonia levels?

more or less ammonia wil rise, it dies.. definately will rot mah.. so remove it!

my blue sponge is growing like weeds... first thing i ever fragged hardy buggers... i used then like glue and the will stick 2 LR together as they grow on it

Mine like slow break up into smaller piece, now leave tiny pieces here and there, but never turn white. I think if turn white in few days, not because of food, but something else, maybe water no good or too strong light.
