Need to off the Skimmer

Hi,some of my frends told me that need to off the skimmer sometime, not good to on it 24 hours.

care to share why need to off the skimmer ?? i dun see any reason to off it unnecessary ...

Acording to them on the Skimmer for 24 hrs, even beneficial components in water will be absorb too. So I am not too sure if this is true..

yep, I also just read in magazine saying over skimming no good, because some of the nutrient required by coral also gone. zoo plankton for feeding filter feeder also suck by the skimmer, therefore need to off at time, so now I on only 15 hrs per day too. See how the result go.
