Trickle filter?

Its a long proven method. But recently less use by reefers due to possibility of causing more trouble in the long run. As there is a wet dry porttion.

The way it works is water is pass through a prefilter, than a "dry" portion (boi balls/ceramic rings etc) where nitrifying bacteria flourish. And another wet portion. Trickle filteration is also known as wet/dry. But if no proper maintainence is done, things that is not filtered out by the prefilter media get stuck in the bios balls /corals chip and in time, can result in a NO3 problem. It is also a real problem servicing. Now use more in FOWLR tanks where NO3 is less critical.

sps are one of the nicest corals but also the most difficult to handle...

be sure that u have the proper equipt b4 starting anything...

Yup. A mature n stable reef is needed or else it's a waste of everything. Patience. ;)
