Whats happening to my Jewel?

Hi all, i woke up this morning to find my Jewel Coral in this state. Whats happening to it? Can anyone explain? It was fine the day before. Is it dying?

Ehh what do you mean by moody? Is this normal for the jewel coral? Does this happens all the time? Usually it will open and bloom very nicely.

OMG!! looks like the tissue is decaying... definitely not normal for Gonioporas to have this layer of slime on it... Better wipe it off the coral and use powerhead to blow off all dead tissue then hope it still has some live tissue in the skeleton to recover and regrow back...

Hmmm its not normal for this coral to have slime huh? I think i better try to remove the slime first... in the mean time can you guys give me your experiences and opinions? I thinking of throwing this coral away leh.. .what you guys think?

Either you throw it away or try an iodine bath. Looks like brown jelly disease caused by bacterial infection. I don't see much hope in trying to save the fellow.

Hmmm anyway guys, i throw away that god damned Jewel coral lah. Anyway i dun have fishes in my tank as i am setting up a reef only tank. Its not smelly at all leh when i smelled the slime on the jewel. Anyway thanks for the concern guy. Very much appreciated.

suggest you remove it unless your tank can handle the load when the coral dies, I see that some part of the coral the skeleton already showing.... Gonios requires nutrient loaded water, daily dosage of DT might help it to survive better...
