5th week of cycling. Added light (AI Prime Reef16) and wavemaker (Jebao Sow-9).

The wavemaker seems too strong from my 20 galon cube nano tank. It moved the sand when lower and almost splashed some water out when higher. trying to balance.

Anyone knows about this wavemaker? is to too strong for my tank??

I think sw4 is the smallest version, sow9 might be too strong for your tank especially when you have a think sand bed.. else try try around the wave mode on lowest setting to see if it helps

Bought 2 cleaner prawns.
Did the aclimatisarion for the cleaner prawns.

Unfortunately 1 died and the other seems to be going

Don't know why.

Even the Astraea Turbo Snail didn't survive after 2 weeks.

Could it be the salinity? My reading is 1.028 or 38 using refractometer.

I need advise on this.

I did aclimatisarion by adding some water every 5 mins thrice and then slowly released the prawn from the bag

For acclimation, would advise drip acclimation. Its simple and cheap to DIY, get some airline tubing and airline valve to control the drip rate. For livestock, normally i would float the bag in my QT for 30mins to sync the temperature and start drip acclimate. I normally drip acclimate for 1 hr. i would check the end point salinity to ensure it matches my QT salinity before release. normally i keep to within +/- 0.002 works well for me. Hope it helps u.
