Hi fellow reefers,

I got a blue hippo tang from ABA ytd. Super active and swimming really well. No sign of ice or any disease also. I did drip acclimatisation before releasing it into my tank (cycled) and it was swimming happily ytd trying to find hiding spaces between the rocks.

But this morning, it was just lying flat on the tank bed breathing heavily. The bicolored angel that i've housed it with ( also got from ABA ytd) seems to be doing fine. I checked the water parameters:

0 Ammonia

0 - 0.25 Nitrite

Both fishes haven't eaten since i put them in ytd. What should i do? Should i do a 10% water change? Thank you!

Update:

Blue tang seems a lot happier today. Swimming around nibbling at rocks. Both the bicolored angel and blue tang still not eating any food (tried feeding formula 2 pellets, frozen mysis, hikari marine pellets and nori seaweed tied to a hook). Maybe still stressed so will continue to watch. I don't think they're pellet trained either.

I wouldnt be too worried unless there are spots on it.

Usually I will ask LFS to show me they are eating pellets before purchasing a particular fish so cant comment much on how to train them to eat pellets but i think once they are hungry, they will start eating and be a havit
